Hybrid Vehicle Supervisory Controller

The challenge

Shown below is the hybrid vehicle a student team developed at the university of Victoria. The previous controller used for the car the MicroAutobox II from DSpace. My contribution was to redesign the control system and develop new hardware based on the Texas Instrument C2000 MCU.

On top of introducing a new hardware, I have added new features in the control systems which are listed below. Here is a playlist shows a walkthrough of the new controller

In addition to the control system, I performned diagnostic analysis on the car to improve the performance. Through root-cause analysis, I was able to unravel issues in the many of the subsystems in the car. The gallary below shows example of some of the analysis I have done
